2021 Geremia IGT, Rocca di Montegrossi

This outstanding Toscana IGT is a blend of 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, grown in some of the estate's highest vineyards (over 500m asl) on pale alberese limestone soil. Geremia takes its name from a 7th century ancestor of Montegrossi founder, Marco Ricasoli Firidolfi. The ‘21 is characterised by aromas of graphite and cassis, purposeful acidity and the subtle salinity – derived from the limestone – that’s a hallmark of Marco’s wines. It was raised for 26 months in a well-judged combination of barriques and larger oak casks of between one and four years old. Athletically proportioned, with perfect balance, it will age gracefully.
