<div></div>San Marcellino is an outstanding Chianti Classico Gran Selezione, made from the fruit of 50 year-old Sangiovese vines around the eponymous church here in Monti. 5%<br>Pugnitello adds yet more concentration and complexity. The 2019 is outstanding, with a cooler fruit profile than its predecessor and a mouthwatering “stony” character indicative of the vineyard’s lean alberese (limestone) soil. Raised for 24 months in barrel, then two years in bottle prior to release, this really is a wine for the long haul, though there’s already a sense of harmony about its many components.<div><span style="font-size: 10.5pt; color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 1)"></span></div>
