2023 Chianti Classico, Rocca di Montegrossi

Irresistible Chianti Classico from one of this much-loved region’s foremost producers, the organic-certified Rocca di Montegrossi. A blend of 92% Sangiovese, 4% Canaiolo, 4% Colorino – grown well above 400m asl in the commune of Gaiole – the ‘23 is a touch fresher and more accessible than the more concentrated (but equally delicious) ‘22. It’s characterised by classic red cherry, herbal and savoury aromas. The palate combines juicy red fruit with bright acidity and grippy tannins, making this supremely moreish and food-friendly, just as Chianti should be. Matured for a year in concrete, then six months in large oak casks.<br>
