Gigliola wants here Rosso to be fragrant and ‘crunchy’ and the ’22 is exactly that. It’s grown in the same vineyards – some of the highest in Montalcino – as the estate’s Brunello, but is conceived for earlier drinking. It’s bottled each year in December, after around 11 months in large oak casks. Expect a complex bouquet of red berry, medicinal and herbal aromas. On the palate, the ’22 is a touch riper than the ’21, but with the cleansing acidity that comes as standard at Le Potazzine, today one of best addresses in Montalcino.
