This is so seductive on the nose, with aromas of strawberry, pomegranate, violet and wet rocks. As Ottin’s wines tend to, the palate combines ripe, juicy fruit with racy acidity – owing to the sun-kissed days and freezing cold nights that characterise the climate of the Aoste Valley. It has the balance and dynamism of a downhill skier. The 2023 was raised for 12 months in neutral cask and barrel. The finish is long and resonant. At this price, Pinot (from any region) doesn’t get much better.
