2024 Montagny 1er Cru 'Les Truffières', Domaine Bruno Lorenzon

Côte Chalonnaise, Burgundy, France

This wine has a lovely sense of push and pull; the richer soils, defined by their almost violet-coloured clay, and south-facing exposure being beautifully offset by the innate vibrancy of the vintage. That this wine retains such a balletic elegance is a testament to Bruno’s agronomy, which brings an effortless saline energy to the wine. He uses larger, older oak barrels as the wine has an almost allergic reaction to new oak and this helps keep a lovely delicatesse through the palate. Its sense of drive and definition is really impressive, yet it remains so beautifully understated. A vinous kiss on the back of the neck. Drink from 2029
