Sparkling
There has never been such a wealth of top-quality sparkling wines to choose from, with the proliferation of Grower Champagnes and the emergence of regions such as southern England and even Nova Scotia. Most of the finest examples from around the world are blends of the classic Champagne grape varieties, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, rendered sparkling with the Traditional (or Champagne) Method. Prosecco – made with the Glera grape, using the Charmat Method – remains a hugely popular choice when a less complex wine is called for. Recent times have also seen the rise of the Pet Nat from virtually every region and any grape you can name.
