2019 Pommard 1er Cru Clos Blanc, Domaine Launay-Horiot

Clos Blanc lies to the north of the village on the Beaune side, just to
the south of Grand Epenots. There is a good dose of limestone here
and the vineyard is well exposed, meaning it ripens both easily and
early. Normally it would be the first to be harvested but Les Rugiens
had that honour in 2019. The fruits are perhaps a little darker than
they were on the Chaponnières, but the wine retains a crunch and
energy that counterbalances the fruit intensity very well indeed.
