There are two parcels, both planted in 1959, that go into this wine, and both produce a lot of small berries. This is more backward than the Charmes, being more compact and with a slightly darker fruit profile. The energy on the back palate really elongates the finish and the huge level of concentration means this is a wine that will really reward significant ageing. It’s a proper Gevrey Grand Cru, with a lovely mix of real power and drive.
