La Riotte lies right in the heart of the 1ers
Crus and the vines here are now 67 years
old. Like a lot of the 1ers Crus in Morey,
La Riotte is quite small, being only a total
of 2.5 hectares, of which Romain has around
20% of the surface. There is a good chunk of
clay here which retained good levels of water
through the summer and prevented the vines
from suffering from hydric stress. This is
definitively Morey in style, being structured
and earthy with plenty of power but also still
very much on the red fruit spectrum. Drink
