2020 Pernand-Vergelesses Rouge Belles Filles, Domaine Rapet Père & Fils

This is the praiseworthy sibling of the white Pernand, coming from east-facing vines in the heart of the village. The soil is a mix of iron rich clay and chalk and provides a canny melange of bright red fruits and overt aromatics. Again Vincent has succssfully retained the bright, crunchiness of the fruit which is both transparent and refreshing. And like the white version, there is an awful lot of wine here for the money.
