I guess we would all be happy to have a back garden capable of making a wine as good as this! Chaumes is not top of the hierarchy in Vosne’s ridiculously grandiose list of 1ers Crus, but then the competition is pretty fierce and this is a delight. Wonderfully aromatic and almost delicate, with great precision and a real sense of fragrance and purity. Out come the blueberries (always a good sign) and out comes the 94-96 paddle from Jasper.
