2024 Studio di Bianco, Borgo del Tiglio

Borgo del Tiglio’s most celebrated wine, Studio di Bianco combines Tocai, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling – three grape varieties with a rich heritage here in Collio, in the province of Friuli Venezia Giulia, in Italy’s north-east corner. Winemaker Mattia Manferrari tweaked the blend in 2024 to include a little more Riesling, adding cut and thrust to mitigate the impact of a warm, dry summer. The result is a triumph – already so complex on the nose, with an array of citrus, stone fruit, spicey, floral and wet stone aromas. The palate is plush and concentrated but with shimmering acidity and a long, cleansing finish. A study in balance.<br>
