2021 Vin Pétillant Bret Nat Lot 1 'Cuvée Zen', Bret Brothers

This is a sophisticated and highly-drinkable Pet Nat, made using the méthode ancestrale (fermentation completed in bottle) by leading Mâconnais producers, the Bret Bros. The nose is fresh and expressive with aromas of green apple, pear, lemon zest and white flowers, underpinned by subtle brioche and yeasty notes. On the palate, the wine is vibrant and precise, showing crisp orchard fruit, citrus freshness and a fine, creamy mousse. Bright acidity and a chalky mineral backbone provide tension and definition. The finish is clean, saline and exceptionally moreish.
