2018 Côte de Nuits Villages, Domaine Gérard Julien et Fils

This is the flagship appellation of the domaine, with 5.5 hectares spread across eight different plots. Due to hail in July 2018, which set back some of the vines, Étienne had to delay harvesting slightly, beginning on 11 September. Consequently, the wines have plenty of richness and, despite their evident power, are balanced, voluptuous and full of fruit.
