This is a sophisticated and beautifully balanced coastal Chardonnay, more linear than solar (in keeping with 2023s relatively cool, long growing season), but with plenty of juicy white fruit, a creamy mid-palate and seductive hints of hazelnut. 40% of the blend was contributed by Restless River, the rest by Newton Johson and Crystallum – three members of South Africa’s Premier League of Chardonnay producers.
