2024 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Blanc Les Caillerets, Domaine Coffinet-Duvernay

The vines here are the same age (85 years old). This is more backward than the previous wine and in fact, it was still in barrel rather than tank when I tasted as it needed a bit more élevage. It was showing reduction and quite a lot of weight, especially for a Caillerets but we can put that down to the small yields from the old vines. Lots of potential but it’s still so young that the minerality remains in hiding waiting to come out. Drink from 2032
