2022 Santenay Rouge 1er Cru Grand Clos Rousseau, Domaine Thomas Morey

One of the top vineyards in this part of Burgundy with iron rich, deep clay soils. This is a perfect spot to make great Pinot, and the access to water from several springs means in these hotter vintages the wines really get to sing. Intense, dark berry fruit, cherry, concentrated and built to last but will pleasure early too. Lovely smooth tannins and Pinot purity; anyone looking for classic Burgundy red pleasure should be considering this as one of their picks.
