The Clos St Jean vineyard is just up the road from the domaine, and Thierry’s holding is split fairly evenly between Pinot and Chardonnay. It’s an interesting vineyard as the soil varies throughout so that both varieties work well if planted in the right place. This has 100% whole bunch, although it seems much less. It has a wonderful brightness and energy with strong bite and definition on the finish. It’s quite powerful but has real style and some lovely polish. Hints of the Côte de Nuits here, but without the price tag! Drink from 2028
