2022 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Sous la Roche Dumay, Maison Pierre Brisset

This 1er Cru sits at the top of the slope above the 1er Cru Sur Gamay. The soil here is quite stony, and Pierre’s version is very saline and stony itself, giving the mouthwatering sensation of licking stones, setting the palate alive. The palate is clean and mineral and really rather strict. A touch of oak spice from the 40% new wood sits well with the dry extract and adds texture. Six barrels made. Drink from 2026
