2021 Sauvignon Selezione Borgo del Tiglio

2021 was a relatively cool vintage here with regular rainfall and a late harvest (by modern standards). Sauvignon was, as usual, the first grape to be picked, from September 10th. The Selezione is a barrel-selection put together by Mattia and Nicola, and is a more concentrated, ageworthy wine than the white label Sauvignon. The ’21 is characterised by aromas of super-ripe citrus as well as elderflower and smoky notes. Typical of Borgo del Tiglio, the palate combines shimmering acidity with a generous, mouth-filling texture. Already complex – not to mention exceptionally food-friendly – it will only improve over the next five years. Drinking window: 2024-2030
