2017 Sauvignon Selezione, Borgo del Tiglio

After ageing in 90% neutral oak for up to 10 months, this ‘Selezione’ is a blend of the best individual barrels. These grapes prefer a ‘cooler’ climate, coming from the east-facing Ruttars vineyard with gray marl and a high limestone content. This wine has a unique character compared to other types of Sauvignon originating outside the area, lending to its intense character. Mattia says “this is definitely the most explosive nose in the line-up”, citrus notes dominating right now, with the usual peach and even a few ‘green notes’ leaning towards tomato leaf. The natural acidity in this wine will keep it going ‘forever’.
