2020 Moulin-à-Vent, Clos des Londres, Château du Moulin-à-Vent

The Clos de Londres lies immediately in front of the château. It’s a late-ripening parcel with complex soils including the red rock streaked with white silica known colloquially as lard (due to its resemblance to streaky bacon). The CDL ’20 is another Beaujolais for the long-haul, although the nose is already quite expressive, with ripe strawberry aromas to the fore. The wine’s class really tells on the palate, which is finelyetched, with chalky tannins. We can’t wait to see how this evolves over the next two decades. Drink 2024 to 2035
