2022 Volnay 1er Cru Taillepieds, Domaine Heitz-Lochardet

For the red wines, Armand likes to use whole-bunch, often 100%, especially in a vintage like 2022. New oak is kept at a minimum at around 15%. In total, the domaine now has 15 hectares in the Côte d’Or. Volnay 1er Cru Taillepieds is located South of the village of Volnay, on a very steep slope. Soil is mostly composed of limestone and loam, low in clay, producing a wine with a sense of minerality and a beautiful length.
