2017 Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Les Vergelesses, Domaine Jean Guiton

The 2016 of this was the best Pernand Guillaume had ever made. This is not too far behind. The vines here always give both small bunches and small berries resulting in excellent natural concentration. This means Guillaume does not have to force things and that he can be gentle on the extraction. For example, he did no pigeage at all on this. He hadn’t done any in 2016 and found it worked so well he thought he’d carry on in the same manner in 2017.
