2018 Vouvray Moelleux Réserve, Domaine du Clos Naudin (Vincent Foreau)
Touraine, Loire, France
2018 yielded the highest sugar levels in over a decade, compelling Vincent to release a Moelleux Réserve, made exclusively from botrytised grapes. The Residual Sugar (RS) is 132g/L. Again, the acidity comes as a welcome surprise, and is one of the reasons this cuvée ages so wonderfully well. Vincent estimates a lifespan of 30-40 years while emphasising it can be drunk now as an apéritif.
