2024 Eclat de granite, Côte Roannaise, Domaine Sérol

Domaine Sérol is a pioneering estate in the Côte Roannaise and makes beautiful wines from the local Gamay St-Romain. As the name suggests, the terroir here is primarily granite, and this, their flagship Éclats de Granite, is made without oak, using 20% whole bunch. Bright, pure and energetic, it is full of cherry, wild strawberry and white pepper, with a stony, mineral tension throughout. Pure refreshment — this is a must-have summer red, but try and resist it any time of year.
