2023 Bourgogne Pinot Noir Les Magnys, Domaine Darviot-Perrin

It wasn’t a given that Pierre-Antonin, son of Didier Darviot and Geneviève Perrin who had created the domaine together back in 1989 would become a winemaker. He had initially forged a promising career in the foreign office, but, thankfully, he finally returned home to take over the family domaine in 2019. He immediately introduced biodynamic practices, although, for the moment, the domaine remains only organically certified. Pierre-Antonin produces a small volume of this cuvee “Les Magnys” from a 0.22 hectare plot of 70 year-old-vines, planted partly with Pinot Noir and partly with Chardonnay, located just South of the village of Meursault. The fruit is vibrant with a touch of spices to add nuances.
