2022 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Vaucrains, Domaine Robert Chevillon

This is a big holding for the domaine at 1.6 hectares, although 23 barrels from a vineyard that size counts as low yields. Mind you, Vaucrains is known for not giving much away and the site is rarely abundant for any of its propriétaires. This particular version is well structured and quite compact. There is a lot of wine here, but it has a different flavour profile to that of Les Cailles, being darker and more coffeed. Lots of power but no heaviness. Not a wine to be in a rush to drink as it clearly needs time. Drink from 2033
