2023 Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru Sur La Roche, Domaine Gilles Morat

So this is the 1er Cru part of the vineyard. To be fair it is very much the part that is in the prime spot and, obviously, yields are now more limited courtesy of its new status. The hill of Vergisson was already one of the areas best sites and its mineral make up really comes through in this wine. It’s east facing, no bad thing in a warm year, and the resulting wine is stony, firm, dry and very saline. Quite delicious. My suggestion would be to buy both and see if the split was correctly done! Drink from 2026.
