2017 Barolo Cerretta, Agricola Brandini

From a single vineyard in the Ceretta Cru in Serralunga d’Alba, this is a linear and cerebral wine. Its prominent tannins call for a slightly longer élévage; some thirty months in cask prior to six in bottle. Time in the glass reveals aromas of kirsch, leather and savoury spice. More reticent than the R56, but Brandini’s 2017 Ceretta has the makings of a showstopper.
