Champagne Billecart-Salmon

Champagne, France

Billecart-Salmon was founded in 1818 when Nicolas François Billecart married Elisabeth Salmon. Nicolas derived from a long line of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ vintners, who signed over a parcel of the family vineyards in Chouilly for part of Elizabeth’s wedding dowry. Two hundred years later, this famous champagne house still operates under the management of the Billecart family which is now in its 7th generation, making it one of the oldest running family-owned champagne houses. The Billecart house style focuses on elegance, purity, and unlike other champagne houses, has a focus on Pinot Meunier, which represents around 40% of the NV blend.
