Rosé
No wine says summertime quite like a pale pink rosé, but rosé is increasingly seen as a year-round drink. The definitive examples hail from Provence, and are made with Cinsault, Grenache and other local grapes. The key to these wines' success is their colour, freshness and subtle salinity. Given its popularity, rosé is today produced in virtually every wine region, with the Veneto in Northern Italy another major source. Some of the most delicious examples, from regions including Tuscany and the Loire, are a little more concentrated (and age-worthy) and deeper in colour.
