Julie Atkinson
Julie was born in London and raised in Blackpool. After she completed her degree in French and Marketing at Liverpool University, she taught vocational English and lived and worked at a vineyard in Vinsobres in the Rhone, where her passion for wine began. She then returned to the UK where she worked at Oddbins, during which she completed her WSET Diploma with distinction. In 1994, she moved to Sopexa, most recently as an account director, based in Paris. In 2006, she set up a translation agency specialising in wine and food, including for CVBG’s print magazine Skopeo. More recently, she has worked in the front of house team at the English sparkling winery High Clandon Vineyard. In her spare time, Julie enjoys festival stewarding for Oxfam (and live music) and is a welfare officer at her local football club. Julie is married with three children and a Dachshund called Connie.
