2020 Pommard 1er Cru Les Chaponnières, Domaine Launay-Horiot

Lying just to the south (Volnay side) of the village below Rugiens-Bas, this 0.6 of a hectare plot has an element of Rugiens about it, showing quite a powerful structure. The fruits are slightly darker than in Les Perrières with excellent ripeness, but there is also power and tannins through the mid-palate and onto the finish. Everything is in proportion and this is a fine version of the appellation that will age very nicely.
