2018 Pommard 1er Cru Rugiens, Domaine Violot Guillemard

This is really quite fragrant for this traditionally powerful Cru, although the structure dips its head above the parapet on the finish just to remind us it’s still there. Savoury, fresh and very much dominated by red fruits, this is nicely crafted and harmonious. A Rugiens with manners.
