2020 Pommard 1er Cru La Platière, Domaine Violot Guillemard

This vineyard lies towards the back of Pommard and is split down the middle, with one half classified as village, the higher part, and the other as 1er Cru. It’s a more classical Pommard with plenty of power and structure and a sense of red earth. But the tannins are ripe and the balance is good, promising very positive things for the future.
