2022 Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru, Charles Van Canneyt

Having bought Domaine des Chezeaux a couple of years ago, Charles is going to become very familiar with GriotteChambertin over the next few years (the new Domaine owns around 1.5 hectares of this small, but perfectly formed Grand Cru) so it makes sense that Charles is already getting to know what looks destined to become one of his signature wines. This has slightly darker fruits than the Charmes, but a nice little bit of lift and having been seduced by the pure weight of fruit, the palate then welcomes a wave of structural power that will drive the wine forward over the next decade.
