2020 Mae Estate Blanc de Noir Sta Rita Hills, Tyler Winery

This is the inaugural release of sparkling wine from the brilliant Justin Tyler Willett. It seems fitting for a winemaker who has an immense love for grower Champagne and who gained inspiration from his mentors, Rodolphe Péters (Pierre Peters) and Cedric Bouchard. A mere 1,000 bottles produced, this Blanc de Noir from the Mae Estate is 100% Mt. Eden selection Pinot Noir and was bottled in May 2021, then raised on lees for two years, disgorged in June of 2023 and bottled with a tiny 2 g/L of dosage. This stunning first attempt nails the bullseye with precision and intensity, chalky minerality and beaming acidity. Bright and brilliant with notes of panettone and hints of dried cherry. We’re thrilled to have a tiny allocation of his stunner.
