This is like Maxime has put a bottle of the Echezeaux on the photocopier and just blown everything up. The structure, the weight, the intensity and the depth are all just more imposing and scaled up. The attack is quick and sharp and then the amplitude of the palate just builds and builds. There is lots of tannin, but it’s all in proportion and perfectly choreographed. As Jasper opines ‘it’s easy to fall in love with this Grands Echezeaux’. And it’s a love that will keep on giving as there is so much more to come. Compelling and impressive in equal measure.
