2023 Morey-Saint-Denis, Domaine des Lambrays

This is produced from fruit from two 45 year old parcels, both of which sit high up the slope above the Grands Crus: Les Larrets just above Clos des Lambrays, and En la Rue Vergy just above neighbouring Clos de Tart to the south. It’s an important wine for the estate, which owns 1.7 hectares, across the two plots. The soil is thin and limestone-dominated, resulting in a wine of real linearity and restraint, even in this expressive fruit friendly vintage. There is lots of fragrance and plenty of florality, whilst it’s bursting with energy and purity. The tannins are subtle and very fine featured. Fantastic wine to kick off the range. Drink from 2027
