Keermont have their Cabernet Franc on the west facing slopes of the Stellenbosch Mountain, at 380m, and two small terraces in this 1.8ha parcel go into Pondokrug. The soils are red granitic loam with plenty of clay to aid water retention. The grapes are destemmed and spend three weeks macerating with gentle punch downs. Old oak barriques add to the open knit, gently spicy profile of this intense wine. Bold black berry fruit, and bright leafy notes, joined by plenty of fine, lingering tannins.
