2021 Pommard 1er Cru Les Pézerolles, Domaine Heitz-Lochardet

From a 0.6ha plot, Pézerolles lies close to the Beaune border and is normally one of the first red vineyards to be picked. Stylistically this cru contrasts with the archetype of Pommard and offers an open, aromatic and pretty style that needn’t slumber in the cellar for years before enjoying. This shows all the charm one would expect from this vineyard with pretty rose petal and spiced strawberry fruit. There is mouth-filling fruit with a broad sweep of fine, firm tannin.
