2017 Clos-de-Vougeot Grand Cru, Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat

Clos Vougeot, stylistically, has changed so much in recent years, especially in the last half a decade, but this domaine was one of the early movers towards making a wine of finesse and subtlety from this previously often overly rustic appellation. Charles used to own three parcels but sold the one at the bottom near the road and kept the two nearer the top of the vineyard where the soils are lighter and more complex. This is one of the most fragrant and elegant examples you will taste with very fine featured tannins and wonderful energy and vibrancy.
