2017 Barbaresco, Guido Rivella

This is assembled from three vineyards in the Barbaresco subzone. They face South or South-East, with blue clay and sandy soils comparable to those of the great Montestefano vineyard. Guido’s Barbaresco is typically expressive and approachable from the word go, combining plush tannins and an impressive weight of fruit with cleansing acidity. Raised for eighteen months in used oak barrels, it will benefit from a couple of extra years ageing in bottle, if you can resist.
