2022 Fiano di Avellino 'Ciro 906', Ciro Picariello

This is a brilliant, intensely mineral white from Ciro. The nose is subtle but alluring, with notes of citrus, sea breeze and almonds. A year on the lees (with regular stirring) has developed texture and complexity, but the calling card of 906 is its freshness and salinity. The 2022 is ready to drink now, in autumn 2025, but it’s worth tucking a bottle or two away, since top-class Fiano can age exceptionally well. The stuff of dreams with spaghetti alle vongole.
