2021 Limite Costa Toscana Cab Franc, Emiliano Falsini

Limite is oh so elegant and stony, but with a Tuscan sensuality thanks to its plush fruit and silken tannins. The concept and indeed the winemaking are similar to Davanti Casa (Etna): the finest berries are hand-selected, again with around 30% whole-bunch fermentation and ageing of 10 months in new French oak barriques. Expect aromas of cassis, granite and Mediterranean herbs. The palate is full but lithe, with a long, cleansing finish – like a crashed wave slowly retreating across glistening sand. This is already so complete and harmonious, but will only improve with another 3-5 years in bottle.
