2019 Auxey-Duresses 1er Cru Les Ecusseaux, Domaine Jean & Gilles Lafouge

The soil here is quite light and gravelly, resulting in a lovely florality and a real prettiness of fruit. Very much on the red fruit spectrum. A strong fruit attack gives way to a precise structure with drive and poise. This has a lovely profile and is very harmonious. Dare one say, classic Lafouge.
