2022 Gevrey-Chambertin, Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot

Vignerons since the seventeenth century, the Confuron family even have a strain of Pinot Noir named after them - Pinot Confuron. Yves Confuron has been running his family domaine for almost 20 years now. The domaine is blessed with some great plots and lots of old vines. Yves is generally one of the later vignerons to begin picking as he is keen for his bunches to reach maximum phenolic ripeness. One reason for this is that he doesn’t destem. The wines don’t see much new oak but do spend around 18 months in barrel before being assembled and bottled about three months later. For the Gevrey Chambertin, the majority of the grapes comes from Champs-Chenys and Creux Brouillard. Rich and vibrant dark raspberry and cherry flavours, succulent fruit!
