2022 Pommard Les Combes, Domaine Buisson-Battault

Based in the heart of Meursault, Domaine Buisson-Battault is a relatively new domaine having only been formed at the end of the Second World War. François joined his father Andre in 1985; his youthful energy and vigour are both still very much in evidence today, as he crafts lovely wines with an enviably relaxed and phlegmatic demeanour. The lieu-dit Les Combes is composed of two parts: the the upper portion is classified Premier Cru and the lower one as village; the fruit comes from the village part but the vineyard is planted at a point where the slope becomes steeper, with a bit of elevation, resulting in a wine with a lovely freshness and a sense of minerality.
